Stowaway (simplified Chinese: 惊天大逃亡; traditional Chinese: 驚天大逃亡), alternatively known as Snakeheads, is a Hong Kong action film based on the true story of a group of stowaways from Fuzhou illegally immigrating to England in 2000. Of the same incident, fifty-eight illegal immigrants were suffocated to death in an airtight truck of tomatoes at Dover, England on June 20, 2000.[1]
SynopsisThis story is based on a real event. in June 2000, a group of Fuzhou people who spend a fortune due to various reasons, to smuggle first to Quailin, crossing the border to Vietnam, wait there for fake documents for flying to Moscow, then to Holland, but however, travel to Moscow became impossible due to the people smugglers being detected. The plan then has to be changed and all the illegal immigrants have to travel to Ukraine by car, then walk across the border to the Czech Republic through snowstorms. Finally sneak into Holland and hide in a truck to enter into the United Kingdom but 58 people died and only 2 survived...... Cast
